This April, the Simpli Quality Manual passed a major test – three councils undergoing IANZ assessments in the same month. Palmerston North, Manawatu and Horowhenua have all recently implemented the manual and all had successful IANZ re-assessments.
The councils were all delighted with their results, receiving only a handful of minor general non compliances to align their procedures with those in the manual.
IANZ reviewed the manual earlier this year and supported the design and the way it had been implemented. They suggested more ideas for development that would offer further benefit to those that use it.
Assessors in the field have also been complimentary. The Palmerston North report said ‘The BCA had a well written and easy to use documented management system based on the Simpli Manual held on their PROMAPP computer system.'
Megan Leyland, Consents Manager at Horowhenua District Council, said overall the assessment went really well and the Simpli QMS performed fantastically.
Councils found the manual was easy to implement. It allows them to draw on the experience and expertise of other councils, which helped Palmerston North introduce the manual in just two months.
Now tried and tested, the quality manual can give councils greater confidence in their quality management system and allows them to focus on their processes.
