GoShift monthly update May 2018

Monthly Update May

A lot has happened this month, with some great improvements to the online service, new councils just about to start offering their customers the portal and the team continuing to celebrate our SOLGIM win which, as well as kudos, saw us receive a weighty trophy (see photo). We would like to say a big thank you to all of the councils involved and their continued support.

Online service

We continue to take your feedback on board, and roll out improvements to the way the portal operates for you.

This month saw substantial improvements to notifications, document uploading and form changes. Read the update to find out more.

We've also updated our video help guides to make them simpler and shorter. If there are other help topics that your customers frequently need help with, let us know so that we develop help material for customers to use before they need to make contact with your council.

Councils from around the country have been contacting us to learn more about the portal and how they can start using it. It's great to have so much interest in the portal, and we're looking at how we can support new councils to join us. The more councils we have using the portal, the sooner we will be able to reduce the cost to use it. It also supports our longer term goal of helping councils smooth the workload peaks and troughs seamlessly sharing processing when times get busy.

Horowhenua has started accepting applications and Kaikoura will go live soon.

We’ve also recently had a change on our team. Derrick Russell has replaced Brent Comis, as a full-time business analyst to support the next group of councils with their portal implementation. Derrick has previously worked with Callaghan Innovation, BRANZ and Transpower.

QMS

The Technical Leadership Group has now agreed a first draft of the shared quality manual covering all process for the BCA regulations – a great milestone to tick off.  Next steps are to send the manual to MBIE and IANZ for review then plan implementation at GoShift councils.

GoShift is also working on a roadshow for GoShift councils to explain more about the QMS and how it works.

Heading your way

You may have received an email with a link to a survey to get your feedback about GoShift. It takes just five minutes to complete – please let us know your thoughts!  If you don’t receive an email, you can complete the survey using this link.

MoUs for the 2018/19 financial year will be sent to GoShift council chief executives soon. And we’re also organising workshops for the QMS – keep an eye on your inbox for details.

Thanks for your ongoing support!
